Village Taverna

Possibly the worst delivery experience I've ever had in New York. Took over 2 hours to get a Greek Salad with grilled chicken (I live 5 blocks away), completely unacceptable. Avoid at all costs.

The food deserves 4 stars but the services deserves none. I placed my order based on an expected 30-45 minute wait time but was sent a confirmation saying 60-75 minutes. I called the restaurant and was told it would actually be 90 minutes. I ended up walking there and picking it up.

Go to the restaurant. DON'T even try delivery. Over and hour and a half. I live 5 minutes from the place. Food arrived cold. No apology-just an abrupt "we were busy tonite". They are simply set up for deleivery. Seamless should drop them.

Always a great gyro. Sometime a but slow on the delivery but everything tastes great. Except the mystery soup. Avoid that. Very unusual.

My avgolemono soup was delicious! I had been waiting for a restaurant in the neighborhood to put it on their menu and finally it came. Not disappointed. Lots of veggies and fresh chicken. Lots of pita came with their tsaziki and it's fresh and yummy. And granted... while neither of these things probably need to be prepared- the food showed up in only 20 minutes. Fab.

It has been 2 hours since I ordered my food. 30 minutes ago I called and they said it would be 10 minutes. I am now up way later than I need to be and I am starving. After 2.5 hours I got my food. Soggy fries and a cold gyro platter. So glad I wasted $20.

Hands down - the best greek food that used the freshest ingredients. The food is so well made and you can taste the care that goes into the dish whether in the restaurant or via seamless. They are also great at special requests (holding items or packing separately).

I really loved this place when I sat down in the restaurant, but I have to say getting take out is very disappointing. I ordered a salad that was barely dressed, they sprinkled some oregano on top but hardly any olive oil. Another disappointment was the size of the salad. Again, when you order in the restaurant it is a much bigger salad. I think they need to step up their take out.

Firstly, I'd like to say I eat here all the time and the food is excellent. But the delivery was a HUGE disappointment. Delivery took an hour and was cold, and I live literally one block away.. It was delivered by one of the cooks. Come on, hire a delivery man and the food might come on time and hot. The food was so sub par. Nothing like what you get when dining in the restaurant. Come on Village Taverna. Sort this out. But I guess this is karma for ordering something only one block away. Next time I will get off my lazy butt and pick upfrom the restaurant.
