decent chinese place...only place i find with wonton and egg drop as a combo soup...great general tso
Fast Delivery and I agree with the other reviewer...i'm from Jersey/New York and this is one of my top three favorite Chinese places in Chicago...exceptional pot stickers and fried wontons...i could eat those fried wontons everyday....and a decent lomein i like the way it's supposed to taste...still not like the east coast though...but definitely worth ordering from again.
I always have such high hopes in finding the perfect & most delicious indian restaurant...especially in Chicago; but alas Serena joins the others in a long line of failures...i waited for about an hour and 25 minutes before the delivery guy finally came and it definitely was not worth the wait. Albeit, it wasn't terrible, just not worth spending $40 something dollars on a few mediocre dishes. The Hot & Sour Chicken Soup just wasn't spicy enough, and the bag it came in had a taste of it too. Pleasant that my first task was wiping all the containers before placing it on my counters. There was no taste distinction between some of the meats in the Serena Platter, and i specifically asked for the Manchurian Chicken to be extra extra spicy and it delivered no heat at all. By the way, it wasn't even a true Indian Manchurian dish; while it was edible and not terrible; it wasn't what i expected it to be. Overall, don't order from this restaurant. On top of that, i found it hilarious that they described their 'Puneer' (spelled incorrectly) as 'Tofu'...Paneer, if done right, is definitely no crappy tofu. Paneer is actually an unaged, acid-set, non-melting farmer cheese or curd cheese made by curdling heated milk with lemon juice, vinegar, or any other food acids. Morale of this story: if they don't even know how to describe their food, or what their food is...how could I have expected them to make something out of it...?
Can you say 'Yes Please'? Because if you've never eaten Thai before or have been searching for the best thai restaurant in Chicago, Thai Aroma is your answer. What do you order? Crab Rangoon and scrumptious Potstickers for starters: hands down best i've had in this city. Even when i'm full, i'll keep popping these into my mouth. In these cold bitter months, you need to get the Tom Yum soup (hot and spicy [spicy as you want it])!! I asked for all my dishes spicy (Hot - I Like It Hot - Thai Chili Peppers), and for the first time, a restaurant actually delivered on the spicyness and yumminess. They know what they're doing when it comes to accomodating different spice levels - they have several to choose from! Check it out!! I have an obsession with their Creamy Panang noodle with beef - I wish they could give larger quantities!!! This place'll definitely make me a little piggy :) And finally, wash it all down with a declious Thai Iced tea, what is it you ask? Thai Iced tea is an orangy orgasmic beverage sweetened with condensed milk. You can count on my ordering these items week after week!!!
